Products & Usage

Do I need to turn off my UV light when using KoiGuard products?

Yes. For all beneficial bacteria and enzyme products, turn off your UV sterilizer for 24 hours after application. UV light kills beneficial bacteria before they can colonize your biofilter. You can resume normal UV operation after 24 hours.

What water temperature range do KoiGuard products work in?

Our beneficial bacteria and enzyme products are effective in water temperatures between 50°F and 90°F (10°C–32°C). Below 50°F, bacterial activity slows significantly. We recommend beginning your treatment regimen in spring when water temperatures consistently reach 50°F.

Can I use Beneficial Bacteria and Enzymes together?

Absolutely — in fact, we recommend it. Beneficial Bacteria and Pond Enzymes work synergistically. The enzymes break down complex organic waste into simpler compounds that the bacteria can process more efficiently. How do I know the right dose for my pond?

Accurate dosing starts with knowing your pond volume. Use our free Pond Volume Calculator to determine your pond size in gallons, then refer to the dosing chart on each product label. When in doubt, it's better to slightly underdose than overdose.

Are KoiGuard products safe for all pond fish and plants?

Yes. Our beneficial bacteria and enzyme products are safe for all fish species, plants, and biological filtration when used as directed. They contain no chemicals, antibiotics, or compounds that harm aquatic life. Our disease treatment products should be used only as directed — always read the label for species-specific precautions.

How do I become a KoiGuard dealer?

Visit our Dealer Application page and fill out the form. Applications are typically reviewed within 2 business days. Once approved, you'll receive access to wholesale pricing and can place your first order.

What kind of margins can I expect?

Do you offer MAP protection?

What marketing materials do you provide?

We provide product photography, shelf talkers, POP displays, social media graphics, and digital assets to all authorized dealers. Qualified dealers also have access to co-op advertising programs.
